What if you could restore your smile in as little as one day? With cosmetic dentistry from Sudbury Family Dental in Sudbury, MA, a gorgeous grin is possible in just a single appointment! Here's a look at some of the cosmetic dentistry procedures we can offer you:
You may have tried drugstore whitening kits in the past and seen some improvement with the use of bleaching strips and gels, but if you are looking for next-level whitening, professional treatment from our Sudbury office is a great option. With professional-grade peroxide, we can have your teeth sparkling and white in no time.
If you want straight teeth without the time commitment of braces, dental veneers are a great cosmetic dentistry alternative. Made from a ceramic material and shaped to fit on the surface of your natural teeth, veneers are discreet and attractive, not to mention comfortable and easy to care for.
At our Sudbury office, we offer dental bonding as a fix for chipped, severely decayed, cracked or otherwise damaged teeth. This form of cosmetic dentistry uses a composite material to cover imperfections. Our dentists will make sure the composite is molded to match the natural shape of your tooth and then cure the composite under a special light to make the bond strong. You will have all the function of a normal tooth, able to chew, bite and brush with ease.
If you have had a past cavity filled with a metal filling, we can upgrade you to a cosmetic filling at our Sudbury office. Our composite fillings match the color of your natural tooth, making them undetectable.

Since the early Roman times, couples have prized the month of June as the most favorable time to exchange their marriage vows. If you and your betrothed are planning a June wedding this season, you no doubt want everything to be beautiful. That would include your smile—and with the appropriate techniques we can help you make it as bright and attractive as possible.
Here are 5 ways to a more attractive wedding day smile.
Dental Cleaning and Teeth Whitening. A routine dental cleaning right before the ceremony can remove stains and dental plaque that dull your teeth's appearance. For an added level of brightness, we can also whiten your teeth in time for your big day.
Repairing defects with bonding. Do you have a chipped tooth, or a broken or discolored filling? We may be able to repair minor defects like these in a single visit by bonding lifelike dental materials directly to the tooth. We color-match and sculpt these materials so that they blend seamlessly with your natural teeth.
Advanced enhancements. In whatever ways your teeth may be flawed, there are dental solutions to transform your smile. We can correct minor to moderate chips, stains or slight gaps with porcelain veneers that cover the teeth's visible surface. We can cap a viable but unsightly tooth with a life-like crown. Missing teeth? A fixed bridge or dental implants could restore them like new.
Plastic gum surgery. Teeth may be the stars of your smile, but your gums are the supporting cast. Smiles with too much of the gums showing can be corrected through various techniques, including periodontal plastic surgery that reshapes the gums and can help the teeth appear more prominent.
Orthodontics. The original "smile transformer," braces and other orthodontic methods move misaligned teeth to better positions. Not only can orthodontic treatment result in a more attractive appearance, it can improve overall dental health.
You have an array of options for enhancing your wedding day smile, and we're more than happy to help you develop an individualized treatment plan. One caveat, though: some of these techniques could take weeks or months to complete, so don't delay!

People improve their smiles for a lot of reasons: to better their career prospects, to put some juice in their social lives or just to do something special for themselves. But you may have an even stronger reason: a once-in-a-lifetime event—maybe your wedding day—is coming up soon.
You have several options for transforming your smile for the big day—and some are even quite economical. Here are 4 affordable ways to make your smile beautiful for that forever moment.
Cleanings. While dental cleanings should already be part of your regular dental care, scheduling one right before a big event can do wonders for your smile. Not only can your hygienist remove any lingering dull and dingy plaque and tartar, but they can polish your teeth for a brighter shine. Remember, though: dental cleanings support your own hygiene efforts, they don't replace them. Your own daily practice of brushing and flossing will also help you maintain a beautiful smile.
Teeth Whitening. You can also get an extra boost of brightness with a tooth whitening procedure. Using a professional bleaching solution and other techniques, your dentist can lighten your smile to your tastes, from a more natural hue to dazzling white. The whitening effect, though, is temporary, so plan to see your dentist no more than a few weeks before your big day.
Bonding. Perhaps a tiny chip is all that stands between you and a knockout smile. Your dentist may be able to repair that and other minor defects by bonding tooth-colored materials to the chip site. These composite resin materials have the shine of enamel and can be color-blended to match your tooth's natural shade. Composite resins are also fairly rugged, although you should avoid biting down on hard foods or objects.
Veneers. Although more expensive than the previous options mentioned, veneers are still affordable compared to crowns or bridgework. Usually made of thin layers of dental porcelain, dentists bond veneers to the front of teeth to mask mild to moderate problems like heavy staining, disfiguration and minor gaps. But because veneers are custom-fabricated by a dental lab, you'll need to plan them with your dentist at least six months before your event. The resulting change to your smile, though, may well be worth the wait.

At the first-ever Players Weekend in August 2017, Major League Baseball players wore jerseys with their nicknames on the back. One player — Cleveland Indians shortstop, Francisco Lindor — picked the perfect moniker to express his cheerful, fun-loving nature: “Mr. Smile.” And Lindor gave fans plenty to smile about when he belted a 2-run homer into the stands while wearing his new jersey!
Lindor has explained that he believes smiling is an important part of connecting with fans and teammates alike: “I’ve never been a fan of the guy that makes a great play and then acts like he’s done it 10,000 times — smile, man! We’ve got to enjoy the game.”
We think Lindor is right: Smiling is a great way to generate good will. And it feels great too… as long as you have a smile that’s healthy, and that looks as good as you want it to. But what if you don’t? Here are some things we can do at the dental office to help you enjoy smiling again:
Routine Professional Cleanings & Exams. This is a great place to start on the road toward a healthy, beautiful smile. Even if you are conscientious about brushing and flossing at home, you won’t be able to remove all of the disease-causing dental plaque that can hide beneath the gum line, especially if it has hardened into tartar, but we can do it easily in the office. Then, after a thorough dental exam, we can identify any problems that may be affecting your ability to smile freely, such as tooth decay, gum disease, or cosmetic dental issues.
Cosmetic Dental Treatments. If your oral health is good but your smile is not as bright as you’d like it to be, we can discuss a number of cosmetic dental treatments that can help. These range from conservative procedures such as professional teeth whitening and bonding to more dramatic procedures like porcelain veneers or crowns.
Tooth Replacement. Many people hide their smiles because they are embarrassed by a gap from a missing tooth. That’s a shame, because there are several excellent tooth-replacement options in a variety of price ranges. These include partial and full dentures, bridgework, and dental implants. So don’t let a missing tooth stop you from being Mr. (or Ms.) Smile!

Cosmetic dentistry beautifies a person's smile and boosts self-esteem. Your dentists in Sudbury, MA, provide their patients with the procedures they need to look their best and experience a new level of confidence—read below to learn more!
Veneers are wafer-thin pieces of porcelain or plastic, bonded on the surface of unsightly teeth. At our Sudbury office, we use veneers to adjust patients' teeth color or shape.
Some advantages include:
- Concealing a variety of issues, including uneven teeth surfaces, chips, discolorations, and crooked tooth placement
- They need little to no anesthesia during the procedure
- They have a long life expectancy and great color stability
- They are highly resistant to permanent staining from coffee, tea, and smoking
Teeth Whitening is achieved through two methods:
- In-Office Whitening: Your dentist will cover your gums and tooth-root surface with a plastic retractor to keep your lips and cheeks away from the surface of your teeth. The dentist then applies extra strength hydrogen-peroxide and leaves it on your teeth for an hour.
- Take-Home Whitening: This method is sometimes more convenient, but won't necessarily give you the same results. Your doctor will give you custom-made plastic mouth trays (one for the top jaw and the other for the bottom jaw) and gel to apply on your teeth. You will then need to leave the trays in your mouth for about an hour. A single application generally won't produce the optimal results, so you will need to repeat the process until you are satisfied with your smile.
Tooth-colored Fillings also known as composite resin, are used during dental bonding procedures. The composite is made of plastic resin and a filler of finely ground glass-like particles. These fillings are used to fix chips, cracks, dental discoloration, irregularly-shaped teeth, fractures, and decays.
